What a waste

A waste that is for making New Year's resolutions, I said I was going to be better about my writing starting New Years Day, well as you can see that didn't happen guess better late than never right?

It is snowing to beat the band here today, has rained for a week and now snow sure don't look like it has any intentions of quitting any time soon, our surrounding towns are in floods from the rain, the City of Reno is really flooding, so guess I will stay away for a few days, we are in a place here that we just get wet no flood thank goodness, of course our weatherman says lite snow showers today ha did he ever get fooled.

I had a great Christmas, had all my kids home except for Kurt, he is so bogged down with work couldn't make it, even had grandson and great grand daughter, what a joy that was they came the 23rd and was here for my birthday the 24th so that was very special, and yes am getting old this was my 72nd, but still happy to be able to say I am still here and doing fairly well. I have spent the New Year's washing walls and over all cleaning and ousting a bunch of clutter, I have a hard time believing I am the only one living here, I swear some body comes in at night and makes a huge mess for me to clean up, but what else do I have to do LOL.

Well this is a start, hopefully I can keep it going and find some fun things to write about, I am not too creative during the day, it is at night when my mind wakes up and then the fun begins so until something comes along, will hush for this time.

The little garden gnome responsible for this garden makeover! Posted by Picasa

This is Creta's son Kurt blogging in her spot. I'm here visiting for a few days and made mom rock-climb up onto her creation to get a picture. It looks great in the photo but that's nothing compared to what it looks like in person. Great job there Mom! Love, Kurt

WELL I AM STILL HERE

Oh my gosh what a job I took on with my "garden" but it is almost done (have a couple of corners left) but have to wait awhile and let my body heal. I didn't get the very best picture and that was me sitting on a 2 step foot stool with weeds sky high and trying to dig all the bulbs and pull all the weeds, oh that one would have been sweet, but did remember to take one after I got all the plastic down, I have done every bit of of this except for lifting 6 bags of rock on to the mound, my neighbor did that, he wanted to help me but told him no, that this was something I had to do myself to prove to myself I could do it.

It took a lot of pushing and TBB's (tired butt breaks) but it was so worth it, I just love looking at it, Kurt says "good job" it looks like a little amusement park. so going to publish now I hope. Later.....

WHAT SHOCK

I guess I have been out working longer than I thought, couldn't believe it when I signed in this morning that it had been that long since I have posted. Started weeding a mound in my back yard for the 3rd time this summer and decided I would not ever weed it again, so bought some heavy weed plastic and laid it all down and then put a decorative white rock on it (liked to have killed me but I did it) it is sooo cute, instead of flowers I am putting little animal figures in it, I have an old tree stump that we picked up years ago right in the middle so the rock and ect really makes it stand out, when I get it done will take a picture and pass it on, I really am proud of it.

Not much else going on this has been the hottest summer I can remember, we had 108 very consistantly for weeks, so only get out in the early morning for a couple of hours then hide out the rest of the day, the news says that we thought last winter was bad, well get ready this one is going to be worse, did they have to say that this early, can't they let us enjoy the fall without worrying about what is coming...

Last time I posted was right after Kurt had been hit broadside, thankfully I can say he is doing good, very very sore for awhile but now back on track and all moved into his new house, he is coming down in September for a few days and I will fly back with him for awhile and oh yes will brave flying home alone again, getting much better at it, my doctor gave Xanax so take a half one about a half hour before boarding and I am calm, no kicking and screaming or anything LOL, still not crazy about it but am doing it. Well guess that will catch me up a little bit later.....

I AM SO GRATEFUL

I am still thanking God today I am so grateful to him, Kurt was in an accident yesterday a woman ran a red light and broadsided him, the car tipped over and it was loaded with boxes and ect as he is moving into his new house, they had to take everything out and remove him from the back of car, he is a bit bruised and the car is totaled BUT he is fine, no big injuries, just a few bruises he says very sore this morning but otherwise o.k. It scares me when I think of how bad it could have been, so that is why I am so grateful today, he is alive and o.k.

We should all be grateful every day, not just when something happens that could have taken a life, I am such a worry wart about my kids anyway so it is good to get good news........later

SENDING OUT A CALL

I am sending out a call to adopt a strong young man that LOVES to do yard work, it is getting much to much for me to handle and the guy I have is getting very independent, as far as hiring kids forget that, they don't want to work so figure if I adopt one around 14 or so that he would have to do what I tell him too for at least 4 years right? LOL what a great idea, of course on second thought would have to feed and clothe him and give him spending money and keep him in school and worry about where he is and what he is doing .... o.k. forget that it was not a good idea, I will just keep plugging along and capture every one that stops by here and convince them they could give me a hand or two, yeah that is much better but in the mean time it is best that I go and get some more of it done, so off I go to discover how much and how long I can last.

Oh life is good........ later

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

It sure don't seem like the 4th of July is here already, where is it going so fast. I hope all you have a great day and enjoy all the activities, I am staying home and cleaning yards, what a job it is but somebody has to do it and unfortunatly I am the only one here..drat it anyway.

It is hot here already so have to take it easy and go with the shade as I move along, I have never seen such healthy weeds as we have this year, lots of things I have never seen before, and am careful where and what I reach for, don't like the varmits that lurk behind things ready to jump out and pounce on me. Well enough of that so back to work it is still early in the day, lots of daylight left, so all of you guys that have a place to go enjoy a bit for me too.

THIS IS FOR JERRY

AT LAST HIS GALLANT SOUL TOOK FLIGHT, INTO THE LAND
WHERE THERE IS NO NIGHT.....

BUT HIS NAME IS CARVED INTO OUR HEARTS TO STAY, AS WE THINK OF
THE THINGS HE USED TO SAY.....

SEE HE IS NOT DEAD, HE'S ONLY GONE ON INTO A BRIGHTER
MORE WONDERFUL DAWN.....

FOR MEN LIKE HIM WERE NOT BORN TO DIE
BUT, LIKE THE SUN TO SHINE IN THE SKY....

THEY WARM THE EARTH AND HEARTS OF MEN, AND IN HAPPY
REMEMBRANCE THEY LIVE AGAIN.....

SO WHILE HE SLEEPS AND HIS VOICE IS STILL,
HIS SPIRIT GOES ON AND IT ALWAYS WILL....

Tails up

You have heard of the old saying "heads up" well for some without a quickness, you get "tails up" and "heads down" they were so huge and fast and were used to preforming for an audience, very beautiful.

Vancouver Aquarium

This is just one of the tanks of fish and "things" to see, it was wonderful.

HOME AGAIN

I am back from my wonderful vacation, got home on Sunday but it has taken this long to get rested up. Kurt had a wonderful agenda planned for us and we got to do it all. We toured Seattle Center and rode monorail to the Space Needle and went thru all shops, that was the first day, next day got up early and headed for Vancouver, Canada, the weather did not cooperate that day, it rained all day but he took us to the HUGE aquarium and it was a sight to behold, did the rain garden, I was a bit nervous there for fear my first sight would be a snake but lucked out and if there was one in the tree's or bushes I didn't see it (thank goodness)had a really great time, got a few pictures will try to post some later.

Saturday we just stayed in Edmonds and toured the perfect little town, with wooden sidewalks and shops of all kinds, so much talent there, very crafty people, oh and we ate everywhere, one place was the California Pizza Place, where I had one of the best salads I have ever eaten, can't remember the name but out of this world good. That night he took us ot a live play called Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward, 3 hours long but it was so good, even tho by then we were all out of gas, very tired at the time. Then next day off to the airport to fly home, good flights both ways so am getting to be quite the old flyer, doing much better at it, but as wonderful as it all was I was so happy to see my home, my cat was very angry with me for 2 days and mad because I left her, but she is getting over it, so all in all it was TERRIFIC, can't wait to go again. Oh and I did fly easy. Later......good to be home.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

Easter morning and guess what the "Easter Bunny" never showed up at my house, course the day is young so there is still a chance he might come by and bring an egg or two. It is a beautiful day here, so all the people who go to parks with their kids should have a very good time, oh how I remember taking my kids or at least making it special for them if we couldn't go to town, we lived out on ranches for most of the growing up years, but we managed to make it fun and it was a great life.

Well just wanted to say Happy happy bunny day and give thanks for all my joys and pleasures and most of all for all my kids, they are still the center of my life.

So have a great day.
