I got lost for a few days

Here I am back again, had a lot to learn and play with on my new computer, it is sooo nice and had a great visit with my son Kurt. He has me set up so that if I did nothing else all day would still find new things and places to go on this machine, he certainly keeps me challenged

We had 2 whole days of sunshine and now back to the fog and pogo nip, but I hear summer is "a comin"can't hardly wait for warm weather again. Going today to get pictures for a passport, my neighbor Pat is going to go with me to Seattle in April and Kurt will take us to Canada, he says we can get in with birth certificate and driver's license but without a passport they are holding some for interrogation YIKES sure don't want that to happen, I would probably look guilty and they would keep me in holding for a few days just to test me, passport is easy to get so not worth taking the chance.

Had a fun week last week, think I have wrote about the stray cat that is coming in and harrassing my cat, well I tried to pick him up to take him to Humane Society, he let me do that but then come uncoiled and shredded my hand, by next morning it was so swollen and red I knew blood poisoning was starting so went to doc for cleaning shot and scripts, guess I will never learn this it the second time, but one good thing " haven't seen the cat sinse so not all bad."

Better hush for now..........

I AM GOING TO MOVE!!!!

I think I need to consider moving to a better climate, we have fog again and will have pogo nip by morning. This has been the worst winter I have ever seen here in our little banana belt of a city. All of the bushes are ruined from the snow being so heavy, in some places in Reno we had 37 inches of snow, went to town the other day and the parking lots are so full it was hard to tell where to park, saw one fellow take a fall and I hurt for him he didn't bounce right back up either had a time getting his footing but he finally did and he seemed to be o.k. so I was picking my way very carefully.

I haven't done too much on this the last few days, but have really outdone my son and my daughter in law, they have both quit me, so am saying this to see if I can shame them into getting on it again, I miss them. Not too much to write about here except the snow and ect, and I am sure that gets very tiresome so will stop for tonight and will try to do better.......

Thought you might enjoy this

Twas the month after Christmas and all through the house Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.

The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste. All the holiday parties had gone to my waist. When I got on the scales there arose such a number! When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).

I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared; The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared, The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."

As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirtAnd prepared once again to do battle with dirt--- I said to myself, as I only can"You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!" So--away with the last of the sour cream dip, Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip Every last bit of food that I like must be banishedTill all the additional ounces have vanished.

I won't have a cookie--not even a lick. I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick. I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry. I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore---But isn't that what January is for? Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.

Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet

THE NEW YEAR HAS STARTED

The New Year has started out being, um how should I say this pretty crappy so far, it is official–- we are snowed in I have never seen so much snow in many many years and never in this area, it is a very white world, but I should be ashamed of even complaining about it, with what is going on in Asia, that is so devastating and myself I can’t even wrap my mind around the total destruction and loss of life, how can they endure what is happening, my prayers go out to all of them.

As I have said before my cat has a doggie door so she can go in and out at her leisure so now I have a white cat, that thinks he is going to move in and harass my cat, he isn’t afraid of me or her, so we end up running him back and forth until I get smart and close all bedroom doors and open the outside door, so now we are having to lock her in at night, she is good she comes and wakes me when she wants out, but is so scared of the white cat that she won’t go out the doggie door, so let her out back and have to wait for her to want back in, somehow this white cat has got to go, he must find a new home.

The sun is trying to come out, but they are saying that more storm is due here today and will last thru Tuesday, so guess I better go and see if I can shovel out a bit more, it is so heavy and hard to do but will do the best I can.

More later.....

I CAUGHT A SUNBEAM

Yesterday a sunbeam came to our town needless to say I caught it and went to Reno to do my shopping and to see the Doctor, got stocked up on groceries so when the next big one comes I will be set, it is due in here tonight or tomorrow not sure where it is going to go, the parking lots in town were piled high, just no place to go with all of it, lots of ice and careful walking so I didn’t fall, just pray we don’t get a big rain or we are flooded for sure. I agree with Chenoha, this is time for a good book. I just finished listening to "The Green Mile" fantastic story and so was the movie, like all of John Grishams just ordered the new one the Broker he is a great writer, also like Dean Koontz, any of them that have a good story .

Well I guess I have played here long enough so best get back to work, not too motivated again today but lots of projects to catch up on, so watch for the Sunbeams, not a bad ride...

ASKING A QUESTION

Rocky called me last night with a question???? She is my daughter in law, not sure where she gets these things from, but maybe someone out there will know the answer.... she ask “what is Queen Elizabeth’s last name, and Prince Charles, and Princess Di, and Prince Harry and William... well duh I didn’t know, have ask a couple of people and they all do the same thing, uh gee I don’t know, why don’t we know? They are in the news all the time, I can tell you who Prince Charles girlfriend is, but can’t tell you what his last name is, how weird is that? Anyway if anyone can help would appreciate your help.

I guess by this blog you now know I have way too much time on my hands LOL, but hey questions are questions right?

A INTERESTING NEWS ARTICLE

I opened my paper this morning and on the center page was a picture of a Doctor, Dr. Noah Smirnoff, he just turned 100 years old, is living alone and still tends to all his needs , just got his drivers license renewed, says he don’t have to get it again for 4 more years!! He still treats a handful of patients from time to time, the reason this struck me so much is he is the Doctor that I had when I was carrying my first baby in 1951, I lived in Ely, Nevada, he practiced there until 1953, then moved to Reno, Nevada.

Just thought I would share that story with you, it is nice to know that some us can live to grow old with out too much trauma, I do wish him well for years to come.......

IT IS SNOWING AGAIN--2005

Well it is snowing here again this morning, not sure what we are going to do with it, worst year I have ever seen here, maybe it is time to move, "where you ask" that is the BIG question, so will just play it by ear and wait and see what happens.

Today I am going to finish a blouse and a pair of pants I stared a couple of months ago, I have to be in the mood to sew, taday looks like a great day to put on an audio book and sew and maybe bake something or Not, decisions decisions, I am afraid it is going to be a pretty dismal day out here, but will cope and maybe find something exciting to do, o.k. that it the plan.

So Happy Happy on everyone, hope your day and coming year is good to you.......
