Easter morning and guess what the "Easter Bunny" never showed up at my house, course the day is young so there is still a chance he might come by and bring an egg or two. It is a beautiful day here, so all the people who go to parks with their kids should have a very good time, oh how I remember taking my kids or at least making it special for them if we couldn't go to town, we lived out on ranches for most of the growing up years, but we managed to make it fun and it was a great life.
Well just wanted to say Happy happy bunny day and give thanks for all my joys and pleasures and most of all for all my kids, they are still the center of my life.
So have a great day.

In honor of my mother

i did this quilt in honor of my mother, pansie's were her favorite flower, she said they looked like little faces, This was printed material, I added the purple backing and batting , everthing you see on this has tiny little stitches, it took a very long time to complete and it turned out gorgous, it is called lap quilting with a frame that is 11x17 inches, very enjoyable.

Might as well dance
This was written by a 83 year old woman.
I'm reading more and dusting less, I'm sitting in the yard and admiring the view without fussing about the weeds in the garden, I'm spending more time with my family and friends and less time working. Whenever possible, life should be a pattern of experiences to savor, not to endure. I'm trying to recognize these moments now and cherish them.
I'm not "saving" anything: we use our good china and crystal for every special event, such as losing a pound, getting the sink unstopped, or the first Amaryllis blossom. I wear my good blazer to the market, my theory is if I look prosperous, I can shell out $28.49 for one small bag of groceries.
I'm not saving my good perfume for special parties, but wearing it for the clerks in the hardware store and tellers at the bank. "someday" and "one of these days" are losing their grip on my vocabulary "if it's worth seeing or hearing or doing" I want to see and hear and do it now.
I'm not sure what others would've done had they known they wouldn't be here for the tomorrow that we all take for granted. I think they would have called family members and a few close friends. They might have called a few former friends to apologize and mend fences for past squabbles. I like to think they would have gone out for a Chinese dinner or for whatever their favorite food was. I'm guessing: I'll never know.
it's those little things left undone that would make me angry if I knew my hours were limited, angry because I hadn't written certain letters that I intended to write one of these days. Angry and sorry that I didn't tell my husband and parents often enough how much I truly love them, I'm trying very hard not to put off, hold back, or save anything that would add laughter and luster to our lives.
And every morning when I open my eyes, I tell myself that it is special. Every day, every minute, every breath truly is a gift from God. People say true friends must always hold hands, but true friends don't need to hold hands because they know the other hand will always be there. I don't believe in miracles, I rely on them. Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.
I would like to know the lady that wrote this, I feel we could have become very good friends but it had no name by the time it came to me. Enjoy.

The Computer swallowed Grandma
The computer swallowed Grandma,
Yes honestly it's true.
She pressed "control" and "enter"
And disappeared from view.
It devoured her completely,
The thought just makes me squirm.
She must have caught a virus
Or been eaten by a worm.
I've searched through the recycle bin
And files of every kind"
I've even used the internet,
But nothing did I find.
In desperation I asked Yahoo
My searches to refine.
The reply from him was negative,
Not a thing was found "online".
So, if inside your "inbox"
My Grandma you should see,
Please "copy," 'scan' and 'paste' her
And send her back to me.

The Minute
Just a tiny little minute,
Only sixty seconds in it.
Forced upon me,
Can't refuse it,
Didn't seek it,
Didn't choose it.
But it's up to me to use it,
Give account if I abuse it.
Just a tiny little minute
But eternity is in it.
Only sixty seconds in it.

Can't refuse it,
Didn't seek it,
Didn't choose it.
But it's up to me to use it,

Quilt for next Great Grandchild

These start out as panel's then you add batting and backing and it don't show too good here but every line, animal, block or whatever on this is hand quilted so when project if finished it looks quilted and fluffy, I am not sure I am doing a good job yet on taking the pictures, will keep trying.

WINTER STILL HERE
It is still foggy and cloudy and wintery, Fernley Fallon and Yerington are being called the "London Triangle" because of all the fog, but just around the corner summer is bound to show up.
Hand all cleared up and infection gone from cat, and he hasn't been back so that tells me maybe he got something from me and I am not sorry he was a real pain. By the way my cat's name is "Jezzie" or "hey cat" she is 13 years old and very set in her ways but minds fairly good.
I am so delighted to see my son Kurt back blogging, he has been off for quite some time, so it is good to have him back. Still haven't gotten Daughter in law Rocky back on it but keep working on her.
My friend Pat and I went yesterday and signed up for a passport, we are going to Seattle in April to Kurt's and on to Canada, should be a great trip. The Tulip Festival is in April so we usually get to see all the fields of tulips, it is really quite a sight, row after row of them, dozens of fields, all colors of the rainbow very beautiful and well worth the trip. The website is www.TulipFestival.org
for more information.
Well guess that is the news from foggy Fernley will stay in touch....

I got lost for a few days
Here I am back again, had a lot to learn and play with on my new computer, it is sooo nice and had a great visit with my son Kurt. He has me set up so that if I did nothing else all day would still find new things and places to go on this machine, he certainly keeps me challenged
We had 2 whole days of sunshine and now back to the fog and pogo nip, but I hear summer is "a comin"can't hardly wait for warm weather again. Going today to get pictures for a passport, my neighbor Pat is going to go with me to Seattle in April and Kurt will take us to Canada, he says we can get in with birth certificate and driver's license but without a passport they are holding some for interrogation YIKES sure don't want that to happen, I would probably look guilty and they would keep me in holding for a few days just to test me, passport is easy to get so not worth taking the chance.
Had a fun week last week, think I have wrote about the stray cat that is coming in and harrassing my cat, well I tried to pick him up to take him to Humane Society, he let me do that but then come uncoiled and shredded my hand, by next morning it was so swollen and red I knew blood poisoning was starting so went to doc for cleaning shot and scripts, guess I will never learn this it the second time, but one good thing " haven't seen the cat sinse so not all bad."
Better hush for now..........

I AM GOING TO MOVE!!!!
I think I need to consider moving to a better climate, we have fog again and will have pogo nip by morning. This has been the worst winter I have ever seen here in our little banana belt of a city. All of the bushes are ruined from the snow being so heavy, in some places in Reno we had 37 inches of snow, went to town the other day and the parking lots are so full it was hard to tell where to park, saw one fellow take a fall and I hurt for him he didn't bounce right back up either had a time getting his footing but he finally did and he seemed to be o.k. so I was picking my way very carefully.
I haven't done too much on this the last few days, but have really outdone my son and my daughter in law, they have both quit me, so am saying this to see if I can shame them into getting on it again, I miss them. Not too much to write about here except the snow and ect, and I am sure that gets very tiresome so will stop for tonight and will try to do better.......

Thought you might enjoy this
Twas the month after Christmas and all through the house Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste. All the holiday parties had gone to my waist. When I got on the scales there arose such a number! When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared; The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared, The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirtAnd prepared once again to do battle with dirt--- I said to myself, as I only can"You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!" So--away with the last of the sour cream dip, Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip Every last bit of food that I like must be banishedTill all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie--not even a lick. I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick. I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry. I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore---But isn't that what January is for? Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet

THE NEW YEAR HAS STARTED
The New Year has started out being, um how should I say this pretty crappy so far, it is official–- we are snowed in I have never seen so much snow in many many years and never in this area, it is a very white world, but I should be ashamed of even complaining about it, with what is going on in Asia, that is so devastating and myself I can’t even wrap my mind around the total destruction and loss of life, how can they endure what is happening, my prayers go out to all of them.
As I have said before my cat has a doggie door so she can go in and out at her leisure so now I have a white cat, that thinks he is going to move in and harass my cat, he isn’t afraid of me or her, so we end up running him back and forth until I get smart and close all bedroom doors and open the outside door, so now we are having to lock her in at night, she is good she comes and wakes me when she wants out, but is so scared of the white cat that she won’t go out the doggie door, so let her out back and have to wait for her to want back in, somehow this white cat has got to go, he must find a new home.
The sun is trying to come out, but they are saying that more storm is due here today and will last thru Tuesday, so guess I better go and see if I can shovel out a bit more, it is so heavy and hard to do but will do the best I can.
More later.....
